The April Chamber Member Spotlight is The Rice Lake Main Street Association.

Main Streets are the storyteller of ones city. They are shaped by the past and represent the future. Rice Lake Main Street Association joins other Main Street programs around the country to enhance economic vitality and stability, grow the downtown as the center of the community, and ensure that there is a prosperous future for our downtown businesses.

Rice Lake Main Street Association was founded in 1992 by a group of local business owners, city officials, and community members. As a not-for-profit volunteer corporation, Rice Lake Main Street Association is designed to act as a catalyst for revitalizing the downtown area through concentrated efforts of organization, promotion, design and economic restructuring.

Rice Lake Main Street Association is more than planting petunias and beautifying the downtown, though they do a fabulous job! RLMSA also sponsors a variety of events and projects designed to enhance the quality of life here in Rice Lake (see events below). They are always looking for ways to strengthen our community!

They have many exciting events coming up this year including:

• April 7 – Artscape on Main at the Northern Star Theatre
• May 8 – Petunia Banquet “Flower Power”
• June 8 – Rice Lake Aquafest Parade – “Sail Into Rice Lake”
• July 11 & 12 – Shoreline Sprints
• July 17 – Kids Fest
• August 21 – Downtown Wine Walk
• September 18 – Fall Fest
